Contemporary kitchen/diner extension
Cool, contemporary zinc and cedar clad extension in Glasgow's West End.
The Challenge
Our clients had a dated conservatory to the rear of their house which was freezing cold in winter and baking hot in summer.
They desperately needed to create more space and modernise their kitchen.
The Solution
Working alongside Cameron Webster Architects, we created a linear kitchen and dining space which flowed seamlessly into a bright, airy, contemporary extension.
This involved opening up the rear of the house by creating a new structural opening for the new extension and installing French doors to the front of the house to connect to the front garden. The extension was then carefully clad in cedar and zinc.
The Results
The kitchen is bright, contemporary and practical and the French doors allow fresh air to flow in. The dining space is ideal for dinner parties and kids playtime. The extension has an immediate connection with the garden with large bi-folding doors and aluminium windows.
Frances and Richard love the new space, here's what they had to say -
We couldn’t be happier with our new kitchen and extension. It’s every bit what we dreamed of and more. Dene was exceptionally generous with his time during the planning stages and gave several excellent suggestions to make the space as practical and attractive as possible.
The nest team were, without exception, polite, personable, tidy and highly skilled. Every step of the way, nest have inspired our trust and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anybody looking to invest in maximising the potential of their homes.
