Timeless garden room extension
Stunning garden extension & internal alterations to listed building in Hyndland
The Challenge
BeSpoke Architects approached nest to carry out the build of an extension they had designed for a grand listed property in Hyndland in Glasgow's West End.
We worked closely with the architect and clients to create a stunning, timeless extension which complements the existing blonde sandstone and brings it bang up to date.
The site was small and access restricted so careful planning and programming was paramount to make the project a success.
The Solution
The project involved creating an additional garden room attached to the kitchen. The new roof extended out from the existing structure and it was very important to continue the clean lines and roof line through seamlessly.
Externally walls were tanked, retaining walls built and existing sandstone used in the new build. The seamless glass roof light flowed directly into the new double door sets allowing the room to flood with light.
Internally every detail was executed with precision from floor tiles, light switches and lighting through to the built in bespoke storage. The monochrome palette provides a beautiful backdrop for the clients love of plants and flowers.
The Results
The new space flows seamlessly from the inside to the outside and also from outside to inside. The clients are totally delighted with the space and it provides a much needed addition to their already stunning home.
The new contemporary space is tranquil, faultless and provides and oasis of calm.
